Shopping in
Bangkok is not limited to one or two major streets. There are many
areas throughout Bangkok affording ample choices and easy access. The
principal shopping areas in downtown Bangkok which boasts many
specialist shops, shopping plazas, and department stores include Silom,
Siam Square, Ratchadamn, Pratunam, Ploenchit, and Bang Lamphu.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Chatuchak
(or Jatujak; Thai: จตุจักร)
weekend market in Bangkok is the largest market in Thailand, and
largest of the world. Frequently called J.J., it covers over 35 acres
(1.13 kmē) and contains upwards of 15,000 stalls. It is estimated that
the market receives between 200,000 and 300,000 visitors each day.
Most stalls only open on Saturdays and Sundays. The market
offers a wide variety of products including household items, clothing,
Thai handicrafts, religious artifacts, collectibles, foods, and live
animals.
Pantip Plaza

Pantip Plaza is an indoor IT shopping mall located on New Phetchaburi
Road in Ratchathewi district, Bangkok, Thailand. The sale of
counterfeit software and DVDs are some reasons behind this mall's
success and notoriety, aside from the fact that you can get Thailand's
best IT bargains there.
Siam Paragon
Siam
Paragon is an upscale shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand. It is one of
the biggest shopping centers in Asia. Opened on December 9, 2005, it
includes a wide range of stores and restaurants as well as a multiplex
movie theater (consisted of 15 large size theaters with one of the
them having the biggest screen and seating capacity in Asia) and the
Siam Ocean World aquarium (the largest aquarium in South East Asia)
and an exhibition hall and also an opera concert hall. It also has a
large bowling alley and karaoke center. It is a joint venture by Siam
Piwat, the company that owns the adjacent Siam Center/Siam Discovery
shopping malls, and The Mall Group, which also owns The Emporium. Siam
Paragon has attracted large crowds since it opened, but financial
results aren't reported by the privately held Siam Paragon
Development.
Central World

CentralWorld is a large shopping mall and office complex in Bangkok
owned by the Central Group. In 2006, after three years of design and
renovation, the expanded, 550,000-square-meter mall was opened,
topping its nearby rival Siam Paragon in terms of size. The mall is
the largest shopping center in Southeast Asia and larger than Hong
Kong's Ocean Terminal.
